I am seriously thinking that I need to get a Tennessee home security system. The other night I found my teenage son sneaking in while I was standing in front of the refrigerator looking for a 2:00 am snack. I was actually shocked because he is really not that kind of kid. Or at least I didn’t think he was. But what mom really believes her kid is the one talking the other kids into sneaking out? When I saw him tip toeing down the hall, the first thought that ran through my head was his friend’s name that I just knew was a bad influence. I of course told him how disappointed I was in him and threatened to ground him for the rest of his life. A home system would alert me if any door or window was opened. But He is a smart boy so I know he probably wouldn’t even try to sneak out. Of course there are plenty of other reasons to have a system installed. The safety aspect is certainly a bonus!

My mom came to live with me for just a few months last year and she ended up staying WAY longer than I think either of us anticipated. I think she’s just the neatest woman in the whole world but honestly, what 32 year old in their right mind do you know that would want their mom coming to crash with them for any extended period of time. I think there’s something special about our relationship though and mom keeps to herself when she needs to. She went to Direct tv Newark and had satellite put in without nagging me about it and that’s been nice because she gets to watch her shows which she loves. I’ve also spent a lot of time working late recently and that doesn’t bother her either…as it turns out my mom is the perfect boyfriend I never had. She even cleans up after herself and does my laundry when I need her to, both major plusses at the end of the day! I love you mom and you’re the best!
